I have been using the Barclays app since it was first introduced. I wouldn't trust it even from a generally reliable source with checksum match, if it goes wrong the bank would be right to blame .

Barclays always had problems with android phones. I had issues with their app last year too when my andriod wasnt compatible, even though it was the latest model. Took around 3 weeks to finally update it (was not just me, but apparantly a worldwide issue with barclays and andriods)
