Virgin media default

I defaulted on my virgin media account back in 2012. I was paying credit security who then passed my debt on to SRJ debt . Then in June 2015 I got a letter saying they were no longer acting for virgin media and to contact them direct. I did contact virgin media but they had no idea about it so I left it. Now while i was checking my credit file its showing on there. What should I do to get it off my credit file ? Thanks

Are you sure the default date is 2012?0

The reason Gary is questioning the default date is because if it was way back in 2012, then the default should have been automatically removed sometime during 2018.
You need to double-check the default date. The date of default is recorded on your credit file.
Edit: You will also need to check your other two credit files to confirm whether this VM account is recorded there too.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

I am curious as to just how much OP could have defaulted for on a Virgin Media account which involved paying debt collectors over an extended period.0

Hi thanks for your replies . I have checked my credit files and it's only showing on my clearscore file . I think the default is 2012 as it the 1st letter I can find . The sum I owe is £279.0

The default won't necessarily be made on the date of the letter you have found. It should tell you the default date on your Clear Score file?0

It looks like it's still active it just says I dont pay it. I'm very confused .0

Look for the date of default0

To see the default, via ClearScore, on a PC:
Logon to Clearscore
Click on 'Report'
Click on 'Accounts'
Scroll down to 'Telecoms'
Expand the VirginMedia account by clicking on the down arrow
Check the default date either under 'Account Details' or 'Payment History'I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

It starts to say that I started to miss payments from October 2015 but the last letter I have is June 2015 when SRJ were no longer acting on virgin medias behalf . Very odd ?0

I don't think you're looking at your report properly to get the correct information0
