They're authorisation holds, not charges so they don't breach any terms and conditions.

I don't think they are as they have appeared on my account's as a transaction (credit and debit with 2 separate company's) , i thought a hold reduced your available balance but not appear on your statement ?0 -

The immediate charge is an authorisation hold, something that they didn't used to do. After a few days it may well convert to an actual charge.0 -
Mine have appeared as a transaction after a few hours
I have put a link for a out of stock item above for 22p if anyone wants to try and see what happens, i ordered it a couple of months ago and it appeared on my statement still haven't got item0 -
These are definitely not ringfenced transactions, I specifically asked my card provider.
Basically, Amazon get to keep the money for an indefinite period prior to actual dispatch.0 -

As company is entitled to debit your account once a order is placed.Life in the slow lane0 -
