On the new 4-lane "smart" M6 the true experts have taken to hogging lane 3.

Totally agree. Came up from junction 17 to junction 20 at 9pm last night. Lanes 1 and 4 were completely empty.

I suspect the reason for lane 4 being empty is the new speed cameras every few yards. I'm not sure if they're permanently on but they've certainly reduced speeds to less than 75mph.

No reason at all for lane 1 to be empty though.

People should also show consideration to other road users. They should be aiming to drive at the speed limit for their vehicle if it is safe to do so and driving more slowly would impede other road users. And they should be keeping left.

Quite common to pass drivers doing 60 in lane two when lane 1 is empty. It's frustrating. You either overtake on the wrong side or have to move from lane 1 to lane 3 and back.

Lane indiscipline is nothing to do with my point.

Above all these self righteous do gooders oblivious to the surroundings are breaking the law and they wonder what causes Road Rage.

    Ah, that takes me back.

And there's an awful lot of fools out there now. Most of them don't even realise their own foolishness.

    It's not a target speed, it's a limit.

Which is quite funny, motorway section by me, 50mph average speed camera zone, driver in front does 40 mph, I overtake and move back in left once safe. Average speed camera zone ends, however it's still 50mph for another 2-3 miles.

I'm doing 50mph, the vehicle I overtook earlier is now overtaking me!

I don’t think they’re do gooders, they’re just bad drivers. A lot of people who drive too slow are elderly.

Which particular law do you have in mind?
  • Windscreen washers are quite good for these idiots. A quick spray will cover their windscreen too.
