Appliances, Kitchen and Flooring - Where from?

Wow, thanks for the advice buddy, didn't think about all these factors. Any advice on where to get laminates from, also are there any links of the type of designs/colours you would recommend?
Here is what i was thinking to go with:

Any thoughts?
My son has this. It looks very nice but when he first got it I thought it might not wear very well, ie scratch easily or show the dust but in fact it still looks like new after 3 years. He had a Wren kitchen too. Gorgeous kitchen but they messed things up and it took a while to get it all put right.0 -
[QUOTE=zesh90x;76422532 Fantastic, thank you for the advice. Mind me asking how/where you found showroom models etc ?
[/QUOTE]
The internet played a big part. By doing google searches I found a couple of places with display/graded models available of the brands I was interested in & with one of them, who deal primarily with the German brand, they delivered free within a 30 mile radius, which luckily applied to me. You do get the full guarantee too when buying this way.
The other place to look is ebay as quite a few companies now sell display/graded domestic appliances via the auction site. You do need to check ebay often to see if anything to your liking has been listed.
Good luck with getting the place refurbished. It's messy but the end result should be worth it.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

Thanks so much for your feedback, had a builder see the property and been told we've currently got solid wood flooring, therefore replacing this with "cheaper" modern laminate isn't a good idea, and been recommended to get the existing wood flooring polished and varnished, so leaning towards this now, need to do some research to see how much old solid wood flooring can realistically be restored...
Secondly in relation to the Wren Kitchen, we've got Wren coming to take measurements on the 1st of November, going to see what they come up with on the design front on the 2nd of November, and will then decide which route to take.... have had a lot of warnings relating to Wren despite positive trustpilot reviews, so a lot of me is leaning towards DIY Kitchen

Would thoroughly recommend keeping the original solid wood flooring, which I've done. It looks much better than laminate. The old flooring, built for the house, should remain with it. Why change it at all (unless it has woodworm or damp issues)?
You can finish an old wooden floor in various ways. Personally, I prefer to leave an aged look (so not to sand it to death), though you obviously need to apply a finish to protect it …0 -
Positive reviews on Trustpilot are meaningless, it's proven time and time again how easy is to get false positive reviews on it.have had a lot of warnings relating to Wren despite positive trustpilot reviews, so a lot of me is leaning towards DIY Kitchen
Personally I only use Trust pilot to confirm that a company is bad, I never rely on them to confirm a company is good. MSE and other forums are the best source for actual first hand experiences.0 -

Thanks for the re-assurance - yep going to keep the flooring and get it re-finished nicely, hopefully, it'll be worth it.
In regards to the Kitchen, going to make my decision on the 2nd of November once i've had proper measurements taken and a design built.:cool:0
