Barclaycard limit

How do they verify your income electronically. It’s it something to do with credits into your bank account or do they see the name of your employer?
I have used credit cards for about 40 years now and have NEVER, not once, been asked to provide proof of income payslips etc to a credit card provider.
Also the idea of approving a credit card, giving a silly limit and then asking for proof of income sounds very odd indeed especially mab3000's comment about unlocking their 4k limit. If the applicant was suspected of falsifying their income on the application (suspected of application fraud) the card account would not be opened until Barclaycard had satisfied themselves one way or the other The request for payslips would have come prior to the account being opened not subsequently.0 -
It’s different with current account turnover.
For example I pay the mortgage and some other bills from my account and have money transferred in. This would look like extra income?
I know they use hunter to compare applications. The only time I’ve ever been asked to prove my income was for mortgage applications and this is standard.0
