BA Data Breach

We've been affected by the BA data breach last september. Looking to claim compensation but law firms that advertise seem to be taking 35% commission on any award. Is there a way of claiming that avoids this extortionate cost?

  • You could approach a local firm and explain in what way you have been affected and how much compensation you are seeking and they will be able to advise.

Unless your provable loss was substantial, legal fees are going to bite into any claim as for 'small claims' any solicitors you instruct on your own will be unable to reclaim costs. I thought there was a formal group action proceeding, probably not by some no win no fee firm but in group actions costs may be recoverable. Might be worth searching and seeing if such a group exists.
