    Tizer?

    Another vote for Babycham tho.....
  • Milk tray or Roses. Black Jacks, Fruit Salad, Sherbet Fountains and pear drops. Spirograph! Jacks game, Clackers. Babycham, liebfraumilch, cream soda.
Happy party from another 60yo next year! Hopefully no surprise parties for me though!

    After Eights and Matchmakers
Irn Bru for non drinkers and a cocktail made using a Snowball for others
    Love Hearts and Curly-Wurly
Cindy doll for the girls and Action man or Dinky cars for the boys.

Just to add that first drink would normally have been either a pint of beer, a half of lager or a vodka and orange but that was real people.

Corona pop, Liebhfraumilch, liqurice sticks/allsorts, Fox's Glacier Mints, those small hard mint things which looked like a flattened ball and had a hard sugar coating - can't think what they nwere called - dolly mixtures, pear drops, Scottish tablet, etc etc.
    Mint imperials?

    Drinks:
+1 for the babycham (although I wouldn't thank you for one).
Pony? The little drink with a big kick...
    Cherry B
Calypso - came in a small bottle - like babycham with orange
Mateus rose wine - in that odd shaped bottle
Drambuie or Benedictine if your 'beau' was pushing the boat out
My Mum used to drink Moussec
    Blue Nun wine

In fact I wouldn't thank you for any of the above...:p

However, the thought of leaving a birthday party with a party bag with a toy in it which reminds me of my youth fills me with despair. What the blankety blank am I supposed to do with that? Sorry, but there it is. Same reaction to little doves and hearts and 'favours' at weddings ...
    +1 to this.

Make sure to give your mom 60 roses of her favourite colour, one for each year of her birth.
Once I turn 50, I started to do that for myself. I cannot enjoy flowers when I am dead, so I started a trend to enjoy them whilst I am alive and kicking.
  • Late to the party but I turned 60 this year.

My first legal drink was Pernod!

I remember the 80's fondly, I was at my peak. Perhaps focus more on her early 20s rather than childhood.

B&M had the small bottles of Snowball, Cherry B, Calypso etc in stock just before Christmas if that's any help? (Packs of four if I remember rightly)
How about small bottles of Brut or old style perfumes? (Also B&M) We all used it as perfume 'back in the day' I find smells very evocative.

I was very surprised at the weekend to see a young child had got out of one of the "machines" (only a £1 a time!!) a maze, do you remember having to get the ball to the centre of the maze. The grandparent did an "oh look" & a couple of minutes later threw it onto the table in frustration. Absolutely priceless!
