Quick Flybe Question

Hi,
My brother and his kids were due to fly from Belfast to Inverness today. Because Flybe over-booked the flight, only his two sons got one (17 and 12) but he got re-booked onto a flight into Aberdeen. He then had to get a taxi home to Inverness which I presume the airline paid for.
Is he due flight compensation as he arrived at his original destination 5.5hrs later than he should have.
Are the airline at fault for overbooking? The flight was neither cancelled or delayed, he just couldnt get on it as it was full (he already had his tickets, the flight was a return leg back)
Any info well appreciated

It is called denied boarding, the straight answer is YES he is entitled to €250 per passenger. Fill in the claim form on their web site.0

Cheers for the info - I`ll let you know how he got on0

Just to let you know Flybe have already offered him 300E in vouchers or 250E in cash.
Part of me thinks why did they offer it so quickly, is he entitled to more but I doubt it.0 -
Each passenger is due €250. As long as he paid anything even an admin charge for children.0

a) denied bording has no defence, they can't argue or stal payment.
b) they have broken the law by probably not asking for volunteers first where you can haggle upwards, the amount of compensation to give up your seat.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
