Fibre to property

We have moved in to a new build but stuck with normal brand and not fibre. Quite a few on the estate are putting in for a voucher off the government to help with the cost of open reach putting fibre in the estate. But open reach don't do or install fibre to cabinet any more or so they've told us only fibre to property. I have looked around at fttp providers and there isn't many I can find. My question is does anyone know if normal fibre packages work on a fttp lines or does it have to be fttp packages which are quite expensive at minute.

Forgot to say after ringing a few providers of standard fibre asking the same question. Some call handlers said it should work if I got fttc on fttp lines but nothing set in stone from them. Some said they did not supply fttp so couldn't help. With all the mixed responses I am still unsure

There are a limited number of providers who offer services over FTTP. Sky were due to start that imminently but they have now delayed to the new year.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if I got a standard fibre package would it work if my estate only has fttp lines installed

Not sure what you mean by standard fibre but if you only have FTTP to your property that is the type of fibre that you will be provided with.

I mean by standard broadband example Vodafone 35 or 63 Meg packages where fttp packages are over the 100meg speeds

As above, you only get a choice of FTTP packages, they are not going to the expense of connecting fibre directly into your property then provide you with some other cheaper type of package.

Thanks for the replies and I thought the same. It was after phoning different providers I raised the question and none of the call handlers could answer just saying it might work. Our estate is signing up for the goverment community voucher scheme to have open reach install fibre but they won't install fftc which most people want. One of the agreements of we sign up is to get a provider with speeds over 35m. Another reason I raised my original question. I can't see why open reach can't install what the estate wants or give the choice of both to the residents

My estate is fttp only but I have BT 80/20 for £23.99 a month. I may have a problem when my contract ends though as there is no realistic competition at the moment. Contract ends in March so I am hoping Sky get their act together by then.
