And there was me thinking most went on wasting copious amounts of our money on all sorts of things instead of the right things whilst planning ways to thwart what I voted for. It's companies that pay VAT, not their customers. Unless the goods they sell are exempt of VAT, the company has to pay VAT as a proportion of the actual price they charge the customer and it doesn't matter what the websites says about VAT.DarkShadow wrote: »Is it ethical to not give govt the VAT? I’d looked at buying it sim-free through clove.co.uk because they offered cashback. Put a 64GB iPhone11 in the basket, choose to pay via PayPal & the total asked for in ex-vat.
I ended up buying direct from Apple to save any hassle.
Their prices are shown as ex-vat on their website, I would presume the vat will be added when you actually checkout.====0
