Our return flight with Iberia from Charlotte USA was scheduled to depart at 22.00 hours on 20th Oct 2019. We had checked in but the flight was delayed and at around 1.30am it was cancelled due to technical problems. We have been told that we are booked on a flight the next day.
The flight is operated by American airlines. It was booked through ebookers.
What compensation can I claim and how? We had also paid extra to choose seats on this flight.

Was your original cancelled flight on an AA airplane? If so, alas you are not due any compensation as non EU airline departing a non EU airport/country.
    Sorry.

Iberia do not fly from Charlotte and as this was an AA flight, EU261 does not apply (non-EU carrier departing outside the EU)
you can see if your travel insurance pays anything for delays. (some may be £20 for each 12 hours)
