Just go back to Boots - ask them to check the lenses against the prescription. If they match then the prescription's wrong. If they don't then it's likely the lenses are wrong.

Nobody on the internet is going to be able to tell you.

There is an informal agreement between high street Opticians that the place that sold you the glasses will sort out any issues, including repeating the sight test if that appears to be necessary.

So go back to ASDA not Boots.

That said, in future do both at the same place. If you want to shop around do this before you have the sight test then have the sight test where you want to purchase.

Why don't you just ring them and ask them, or visit them if you can't use the phone?

You are making a huge deal out of something that can be sorted quite quickly by speaking to them directly, rather than asking strangers on the internet to second-guess their way through your garbled version of events.

Unlikely, but it's up to them.

I believe opticians have a device they put your glasses in and can tell what the prescription is. Just get them to do that

Yes. Any option should be able to measure the lenses and check if they match the prescription. If the OP wants to establish whether the prescription or glasses are wrong (if either are) then they will have to see what another optician would charge for doing just that.

Yes, I agree that it is easier to resolve a problem if both the prescription and glasses came from the same place but it is the patient's right to shop around for their glasses.

It will be easier to tackle asda here. Their is nothing wrong with the prescription if the vision is clear through the centre. All lenses are only optimal though the centre.

Worth knowing Bigger prescription more off axis distortion esp if increased a lot
Bigger Frame more off axis distortion
    diffrent lens material diffrrent distortion

Solutions 1) Wear spectales and see if settles down after a few days
    2) change lens material
    3 ) Smaller frame
    4) Just accept you need to look through centre of lens.
