UKPC Parking Fine.

Hi All,

I sent the one size fits all email to UKPC about a fine received on a car I own. I received a letter a couple of days ago that just asks me to send them a ticket from the date of the fine.

I can’t see on the sticky thread any indication on what to reply to this request.

Any advice?

Thanks,

    It is not a fine.

As long as they don't want anything else, there is nothing wrong with The Keeper sending a copy of The Driver's ticket, as long as it is explained exactly as I have written it.
Just make sure the driver's identity is not revealed.

So I can ask the driver if they have a ticket that was displayed in their window at the time of receiving a fine and send that to them? I assume I’ll have to somehow take a photo and email it to them? Or should I post them directly?

The wording was not particularly clear (and someone else in the household kindly threw it in the bin!)

    Thanks for your advice.

    Email UKPC on

but preferably I would ignore that letter completely, and await the POPLA code, hoping they leave your case in the pile and forget to send any NTK.

That (no keeper liability - no NTK) is what will win at POPLA, not proving the driver had a ticket.

Thanks for the follow up. The letter obviously offered to let me (so generously) pay them £60 instead of the £100 they previously asked for. There was no time frame on the letter for responding.

If I do ignore the letter completely, at what stage are they obligated to get back in touch, and what could they do? Can they decide to increase the amount they want me to pay? At what stage would inneee to make a payment or face court?

They should respond within 35 days of receipt of your initial appeal. I believe this is explained in the NEWBIES.

If you haven't had a reply with either a cancellation (unlikely) or a rejection and PoPLA code by around day 38, complain to the BPA.

It is up to the keeper whether they send a copy of the ticket or not.

Don't forget to complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.

Have you complained to the landowner yet?

You have not been fined, please read the newbies/sticky thread, as you are at risk of shooting yourself in the foot, unless the paperwork etc complies with the requirements of the protection of freedoms act (pofa) you should be making no attempt to guess as to who was driving on that day. If you are unsure of PoFA compliance by the parkin company (ppc) do not attempt to name the driver on the day ( in most cases this is good practice anyway)

Your vehicle received a parking charge notice ( which is not a fine)

Why was it issued with a parking charge notice?
overstay? outside of lines? no payment? wrong reg entered? failed to enter registration number?
If it was two visits recorded as one, this is know ( on here at least) as a 'double dip' and changes things significantly in the favour of the registered keeper

Another factor that will have an effect on the advice is who's car park is/was it? and in some cases even the location of the car parks, as some car parks have a reputation for sharp practice

So in short I just ignore the letter that asks for the ticket that was put on the vehicle I am the registered owner of and await a further letter from them?

By send them a ticket, it sounds like the are asking for the pay and display ticket, do you have this?

if you can answer these is will help....

This letter is just them digging for info and hoping you will shoot yourself in the foot by blabbing about whose ticket it was and that you were driving.

This is in EVERY UKPC thread, and really doesn't need discussion yet again...

I kind of thought my words were clear. No idea why we so often have to repeat what we say on this forum, this is so simple and normal for UKPC cases (you should read some):

    To answer a few questions:

Yes, I have complained to my MP and the landowner. No reply from either, though.

The car in question was given a ticket for failing to display a parking permit on privately owned land. It is owned by a company called K3 Capital PLC.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I am going to ignore said letter.

My appeal email (wording from the newbie sticky) was sent on the 3rd September, by the way.
