NCP parking fine on double yellows

I’m in a dilemma on whether to pay or ignore. I parked at the O2 a couple of weeks ago and came back to a ticket on my car. They have reduced car parking at the moment so even though it was early no spaces were available (secondary car park closed) 3rd car park some distance away and considerably more for parking for the day. So I parked on a grass verge way no obstruction to any other vehicles but left side of wheels on yellow lines. Parking paid for the day £12 (if the other car park was open it would have been half the cost) and then I came back to a ticket.
Do I pay or ignore as far as I can work out they are not out of pocket through my parking as I paid and they are not providing enough bays.
Advise please this is a private NCP ticket not a council one.

I’m in a dilemma on whether to pay or ignore.
Dispel that dilemma, iT IS A SCAM.
In fact, nine times out of ten of these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra work.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
