Negotiating with Barratts

I was hoping someone might have experience with negotiating with Barratts. I am looking at a property of theirs which is listed at £264,000 and can probably afford up to £245,000. That would include them part exchanging my current property. They say that if you aren’t part exchanging that you could also get a £10,000 deposit boost towards the property. The lady from the development has told me over the phone that they are keen to sell off the last few properties as they are moving onto a second phase of the site. Do you think they are likely to negotiate at all?

After care isn't great, neither is build quality
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

We managed to negotiate a £10k deposit contribution, part exchange of our old property, legal fees, stamp duty and £500 towards moving costs as well as carpets throughout on our David Wilson (part of the Barratt group) earlier this year.

Our plot had already been heavily discounted as well prior to this by about £25k.

So haggling is possible if they want rid of the plot quickly as they did in our case.

I like the layout of the property compared to most other new builds and I also like where the development is.

That is interesting. I'm wondering if they would give me the £10,000 boost so I could go up to £255k if I agreed to moving by Christmas to get it off their books. Also, how did you find the offer they gave you on your current property? I know roughly what mines worth and have an independent valuer coming to look next week.

    Have they valued your property?
  • Not yet, think I’m having that done next week
