behind the customer services desk there should be a big long poster advertising what to do in the case of returning certain items.
at the bottom (surprise surprise) there is a section entitled 'what if it doesn't add up?' and it says on there that they will refund double the difference.helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -

As said in previous post there is a large poster/sign behind the customer service desk. You will also find it behind the electrical service desk if the store has one. In addition most tills have a smaller A4 version of the same poster.
Basically when you buy something from Tescos you are contracting on the T&C that if they overcharge thjey will refund double the difference. Additionally, if they charge you more than the SEL without telling you first then they are in breach of advertising legislation.
Mr T is not too concerned when he overcharges all those people who never check their till receipt, so do not be too concerned when you claim your contractual right to double the difference. After all, if Mr T wasn't mking money from overchatrging the majority, I am pretty sure he would not be offering a small percentage back by way of DTD to the minority. It is just a (very) small conscious salving exercise by Mr T, nothing more.0 -

Thanks for pointing that out!!! I work at Tescos and sometimes have to deal with stroppy customers at the customer service desk!!!!
I had been informed that tescos no longer offer double the difference and only now refund the extra that you paid. There was a time when they refunded the difference and gave you the item free, my mate got an xbox. I assume they were loosing too much money for it and have stopped doing that.DFW Nerd No: 758  Proud to be dealing with my debts!:T Proud mum to Bon-Scott my amazing 10/10/10 baby

sorry if you are but it really doesnt sound like you work for cs at tesco. in feb they stopped doing r&r which was if you got overcharged by even a penny you got a full refund and kept the product for nothing. the policy now is if they were to overcharge you by one penny you would recieve 2 in compensation. if you do work for cs look at big blue board behind you and it will explain.0 -
I was only saying what we had been taught. I've never been told to refund customers double the difference and Ive been trained on it for about 6 months. Im going into work tonight so I will have a look at the refund board.DFW Nerd No: 758  Proud to be dealing with my debts!:T Proud mum to Bon-Scott my amazing 10/10/10 baby

These extra refunds don't apply to things bought online - I was overcharged on my wine delivery so was hoping for double the difference....no such luck!0
