My payslips have been online for donkeys years, can't honestly remember how long, I've never given it a second thought. I don't print them off, still get a P60 through the post which I keep.

They are online so just download and backup

Not always possible I'm afraid....for e.g. my company has implemented them in such a way that you can view & print, but saving the file/document results in a blank payslip or P60, so you'd have to check first if yours wll work like this.

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D
  • Only matter of time until every employer will do payslips, p60 etc online. It saves them massive amounts and makes it convenient for the employee.

Also with more and more account openings now being online (i.e. bank account), You can then easily attach the electronic pay slip when opening online.

Can you simply not just "print" them to pdf rather than trying to save them as a document?

If you can view the payslip but not print you can use snip & sketch or screenshot to save a digital copy

yeah, that's the nearest thing to working, but results in a very poor quality image, which pixellates when you try and enlarge it enough to actually read it....

...and no I can't use photoshop or gimp on my works machine

If I was on one of the company's main sites, printing would be a doddle, but as I'm permanently off-site it's a pain...lappy locked down that much can't even install a printer driver :(
