I've recently moved to a house with Oil heating that heats the house and the water.
Is it better to have the hot water on constant or to come on 2/3 times a day e.g. Morning/Evening or Morning/Afternoon/Evening?
Any other tips on using oil heating welcome

Welcome to the forum.
The cheapest way is to have hot water on for the shortest time whilst still providing sufficient hat water for YOUR needs. You will need to experiment with timing and water temperature..
Having said that having the hot water on for a longer period will not cost a huge amount more providing you have a well insulated tank. Modern tanks lose very little heat and at this time of the year that 'lost' heat warms the fabric of the house.0
