Can't get the parts for that now.

Then that's probably why it's so expensive now if they have to be custom made.

Eh? You can, off the shelf. Just not for that price...

I've just put the reg of my old 206 from 10 years ago into ECP and you can pick up the 3 sections for under £92. It can't possibly cost another £160 to fit.

I had the back, middle long pipe and front short pipe replaced on an 8v 206 back in 2010 for £90 at a local garage.

    £92 is more than £90.

And, yes, perhaps ECP parts are cheaper than the Bosal part numbers as in the diagram.

But add some margin onto the parts prices, and allow an hour and a half of labour plus VAT in Kent...

My point being, allowing for 9 years of inflation, it would cost no where near £250 at my local indie garages.

I have been out of the game a long time now but I remember the time we used to fit Mk 1 and 2 escort exhausts in about 3 minutes ( did it quicker a few times) for about £20.

OP have you rung round a few of the fast fit exhaust places

I have also been out of the game a long time ('97) and can remember actually welding a sleeve joint between 2 sections of a Mk. 2 escort pipe for £5. But that doesn't help the OP.
OP, try this link, see if there are any near you:

I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

The exhaust story that p-d me off most was nearly 40 years ago we were in Cornwall in our T-rusty Mk 1 Cortina.
Newish exhaust, but some twit (me) hadn't attached the connection to the manifold properly, and it had "flame cut" the exhaust part of the connection.
Friend down there said "My mate at the local garage will have a bit of exhaust and he'll weld that for you"
Went to said garage, sharp intake of breath, "Oh no mate it'll have to be a new exhaust, we've got one here."
So I said "OK, fix it"
He then proceeded to take the old exhaust off, find out that the connection to the manifold on the new exhaust was the wrong size, go out to the scrap, find a bit of pipe the right size, and weld that onto the new exhaust!
I wasn't best pleased I can tell you!
