A bit scary frankly - even more so given this happened in the EU where legally providers must offer the same roaming as your UK package.
Vodafone allows you to use your UK calls and data for £6 a day in over 75 non EU destinations if you have one of their higher data Max/entertainment plans. Makes you wonder how well that works - as the potential charges otherwise are very high for data.0
