  • Hi,
I have received a letter from BW Legal re. Talk Talk owed debt £117.00.  I briefly had an account with them but cancelled after receiving absolutely shocking customer service and this was in 2006!  I phoned BW Legal and they said they got passed the debt in September 2020 so I have asked them to send me evidence of what this is for, do I have to pay as it was 14 years ago?
    Absolute disgrace!

    Please advise.

IF it is your debt ,then you do owe it BUT they cannot chase you thru the Courts for a debt that old - but they can record it with credit reference agencies.

I suggest that you also check your credit history to see if this has been logged as a default already.

    Good luck with this.
I have had a problem since moving from TalkTalk to Vodafone on 20 February. Out of contract, no issues before that other than removing facilities such as web space, and steady price creeping.
All that should have been needed was the repayment of advance payments.
Has turned into a nightmare with three elements

Being pursued for bills for a service they no longer provided

Misdirection of calls from users of their network so their calls never reach me

Absolutely appalling customer service including the ADR process

The first element has been sort of sorted under ADR, but they had agreed to very kindly let me off the new late payment fee they started to pursue me for. However, they have refused to provide me with a letter saying I do not owe them anything.
Their billing system is taken by them as gospel whatever you say or evidence you provide. Nothing seems to have changed since they were taken to task by OFCOM around 10 years ago. If enough people complain to OFCOM they may directs them to get their act together, but they will not intervene in an individual case (or offer any help).
CISAS provide ADR, but are as much use as a chocolate fireguard. They have unwritten loopholes which TalkTalk will use to evade taking any action. My only suggestion is not to bother to ask for anything, but a large amount of money. You will not get it, but you might get more attention and satisfaction.
