Time to fire up the thread. I think many of us may need it in these strange times.I haven't noticed you on the forums recently Prepare at Home so have wondered if everythingis ok with you and yours,The last couple of years have been strange and quite difficult for ECV youngest but she'ds finally back on the appts roundabout after the practice nurse home visits and virtual appt swith her Dr C;I hope we'll see the regulars and any newbies here.As always we ask adivice on housework , cooking ,organising and and any difficulties. We remember Martins Be kind to all Moneysavers Mantra. Any Trolls or nasty PMs will be repored. This is not the place for trolls/Prescribed medication is the business of the Consultants , Doctors and their Patients so no suggestions of stopping taking prescribed meds and taking XYor Z instead. I think the mods spotted that before I noticed and reported it.Snake oil and other things have no place here. This thread is solutions to everyday life, organising meds , paperwork PIP and Disability Benefits. Everyday life and pacing when health is flaring. We always chatted and there were alot of very nice people here and on the previous thread.Above all however low the mood or bad the pain is we try to find the positives among the negatives,Whiile supporting each other and helping solve everyday difficulties. It's been a long day and I seem to have typed all day but I'll be back tomorrow to see if we can get this thread going again. Hope to see some of our regular posters and any others here over the next few days.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Dunno if anyone remembers me - I haven't posted on MSE much the last couple of years simply due to lack of spoons; too many other tasks that must be done, then I'm like a limp dishrag, with no energy for anything else.Quick catch-up - DH and I have both been prescribed more meds; he now has 10 prescription items, and I have 12. *rattle, rattle*I had to re-vamp my spreadsheet to deal with all that, as I like to keep them listed in alphabetical order. On a happier note, I have a Greyhound coming to stay for 2 nights on Friday, lovely chap, name of Noah. Can't wait!Recently finished an online course on Canine Communication, and about to embark on one on Canine Nutrition. You're never too old to learn!Gotta go, DH is waiting to help me out of my clothes to get to bed.(Nothing like that, get yer mind outta the gutter!)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)8

You're probably asleep now Wolfie but I'm in the land of the sleepless bloomin' flares. I well remember you and have missed your posts. I know you did some on the fence and was always glad to see you and Mr Wolf were plodding on and sometimes there'd be a pic of one of your canine guests. There's always room for a limp dishrag spoons or not.My dd should rattle she's on 12 repeat meds with the addition of oral or injectible steroids and antibiotics from time to time. Was talking to Mar, Youngest has been on MTX for many years for the Psoriatic Arthritis and the additional med that goes with it which at the moment is shrouded in Fibro Fog when I would have remembered a few hours ago . She has Fibro too but not always as fog as her mum.She has an amazing memory very surprising with all her different health conditions, I think she'll remember just how long it takes for the additional med to kick in and help cope with the MTX which is pretty effective after all these years controlling the Psoriasisand protecting her joints somewhat.Downside to MTX is she takes it Friday nights. That was set so she'd be fit for all her various appts. Often her weekends are mostly spent in the bathroom not pleasant but it's the nature of the beast. She's been shielding at her boyfriends since Superdoc phoned with stay indoors and I'll phone back later. She's out of his area but he sent the nurse to do her regular bloods needed because of the MTX.She's had real appts over the last couple of months with consultants etc which stopped at the start of the pandemic. So all over the place for various checks and treatments anxious at going out but facing the fear because she knows she has to or wipe out decades of keeping her alive.I'm glad your still working through your canine courses and still having the joy of your canine guests . Can you and the buggy keep up with a greyhound? I have images of you being dragged along at high speed. You can't shock me I have a very clean mind! Anyway I know Mr Wolf has to help you undress as you help him.Drop in whenever you have a few spoons it's always good to see you.pollyxETA Folic Acid that's the one . I remember years ago when she started the MTX she was very frustrated because it took a long time to kick in. Dr C explained the science and she loves the science and many of her face to face two weekly appts involved science , jokes sometimes the 3 of us would be singing Springsteen and other songs or putting the world to rights. She's always been his last Friday morning appt every other week because when the serious stuff is done we have a joke laughs and appropiate song sessiom he came to the practice just over 20 years ago as a newly qualified GP. The Dr who had done the ante natal care for dd2 and youngest told us not to spread it about but she'd be retiring soon. She told youngest she was leaving her in very safe hands and she did.I've often wished we could clone him when people are stuck with uncaring GPs. he never managed to figure out how that could be done though. It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Fibro canbe literally a painMar as I know myself but try andpace yourelf listen to your body when you can. They certainley have been weid times but all we can do is keep on keeping on and being careful. I'm still masked the few times I go out and will remain so as long as it;s needed. Didn't have flu last winter and that;s a bonus also no colds same for youngest who;s double masked for her meical and other appointments.Weatherhas been quite nice todaybut it's gone lot colder the last hour but it does lift the spirits if the suns out and helps lower the pain levels.Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer and sunny that always cheers me up andI feel a lot better both mentallyand phsically lotf the bulbs in flower in the gardenwhich always brighten my day after the dark days of winter,We've had a lot of frosty night but hopefully there'll be less of those. Looking around the world things couldbe much worse so better to count are blessings and think of those who can;t hoping things will improve although there are some things that aren't easily forgotten or recovered from.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Get yourself out Mar and make hay while the sun shines. I don't mean that literrally what on earth would you do with hay? On secondt thoughts forget about the hay you only have a wee cat and we don't want you becoming involved with large animals ever again. Don't think Heffalumps eat hay and we don't want you venturing in to the realms of other karge animals. You have a wee hoose now wnd "The only haunted Freezer in Scotland " is needed for stocking up on necessities bought at bargain prices as a good OSer does and provideing a much more varied and healthy diet than Heffalumps. There was a deep frost when I put the milk bottle out last night but a beautiful clear starry sky and the lovely Worm moon. I went indoors put a coat and gloves on and stood outsipde star and moon watching then scuttled back indoors like a wimp.Twas lovely though andl looking at the skies is very calming. Although terrible things are happening it makes me hope even in the darkest of times prople can look up to see some beauty in the world and have hope. It's brightening up here feels like a big coat day att the moment but I'm hoping our weatherman Owain was right with his " It's going to be a lovely day Dahllngs" forecast, Enen if it pours down he's comedy valuepollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I miss the dark skies here, last house was terrific for stars. No light pollution for miles. Here I just have the wee piece of sky above the trees out the back. But the sun rises and shines right into my kitchen window which is lovely.Only livestock I could really get into here would be hamsters. No room for anything bigger...............anybody got a good hamster recipe???3
