So much for tidying my garden on Christmas Day. I woke to find a tree in my garden. It’s a real mess but on the plus side, it will give me hours more sunlight in the summer 😃
This is what it looks like from the other side. It’s been ripped up at the roots

Trying to be oh so positive- stiff upper lip, Dunkirk spirit and all that but my good and positive start to 2021 seems like a farce already.I began the first working day of the year with a phone call from the over 65 memory team saying that they are referring me back to Adult services. This will be the third year in a row I’ve been referred to AS and each time they fob me off onto the over 65’s who can’t help me because I only 53 and I don’t technically have a memory problem.I do remember the budget for adult ADHD and Autism services was cut to zero in last years budget (might have been the year before) I just don’t know where to go from here 🙁2

Time to fire up the old thread. I hope you're ok 3 secondmemory. The cuts to services have affected many sadly.I have managed two rotator cuff tears and a broken toe. That's what happens carrying laundry basket downstairs thinking of all sorts and with a head full of fibro fogI mentioned it on another thread and mothernerd mentioned the throwing the laundry downstairs tip first mentioned on the original poorlies threads. TBH I'd probably throw myself with it but there were other ways suggested. So here we are living in these very strange times. So many things to adapt to. I'm not getting the exercise I should. I've been the main doer in the bubble which is dd, her boyfriend (wfh) and myself.I've limited how often I'm in town mainly depending more on our little Coop which has been a blessing but doesn't have a big range. So time to compare notes on how we are, any hints and tips to make life easier or safer . Chat or whatever you like. There are only two rules No recommending prescription meds- that's for the professionals - or strange snake oil type stuff. Herbal is fine if you know what you're doing. Good essential oils are good too for many purposes. I use Rose oil in warm water with a microfibre clothto wipe various surfaces. It's good in cold weather when the radiators are on as the scent can lull me to sleep. The other rule is like Martin's Mantra. " Be nice to all moneysavers" We've never had a nasty post since I started the first thread. One post taken down and a message from the mods as it was advising someone to ditch the prescription meds and follow some strange regime. The lovely and very wise mothernerd should join us and a few others have mentioned doing so. I hope we will see some of the regulars back here. We were a happy supportive little bandWCS, Tink and so many others - not forgetting Ming/Mar or whoever she is today hopefully you'll all find your way here again. If you read Wolfie I'm sending you both love, light and strength.I've been peeping out of the window to see if there was any sign of the Supermoon. The only bright light is a street lamp!Sorry about the Italics. I'm getting used to a new laptop and keep knocking something random.Take CarepollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I'm still me. Wee, cute, and cuddly, no change there.

Thank you for getting this going again, Polly, I looked back for pages but couldn't locate it. (Lack of patience, and guilty feeling I should be doing one of my neglected jobs.) Think I'll make notes this time.
Yes I do have 2 very heavy sofas, they haven't been moved since DS was here, January 2020. I just dust behind and vacuum around them. In the winter a large black SPIDER emerged from under one, so no doubt they have excavated a tunnel system and are plotting a world takeover......
I have been joyfully throwing stuff over the banisters, then collecting it all into wash basket. Doggie loves the game, and joins in by galloping round the house full speed.
I had my 2nd jab on Sunday, flu-ish side effects since then, but no temp. so not as bad as after the first, and I expect to be over it by today. I've been sleeping really well, (too well) don't know if that's a s/e.7 -

I've been sleeping really well, (too well) don't know if that's a s/e.I'm quoting posts because the brain is very foggy today. It helps me remember what I'm replying to.Luckily at some point with the original thread I put it in my mse bookmarks and could go back to it to start the second thread. For anyone who may not know how to do that, Go to your profile and there's an oblong thingy at the top on the right hand side click on bookmark this thread and you can always find the thread you're looking for.I've been trying to remember when I started part 2 so will look back at the first page to check. I don't know if it was pre pandemic. I know youngest and I were sitting on a bench on the high street on a lovely sunny afternoon calm and happy. I suspect we knew of the virus because I asked her how to link part 1 to a new one. Ir seems like a very different world now.I still have the very heavy sofa. It was made to order years ago and expensive and very suppotive and comfy. Thankfully only the one however it partially blocks the understairs cupboard where the gas meter lives and needs shifting when the meter reader calls. I've had a few kind ones who have moved it but others quoting health and safety. I've never figured out why it's indoors. Electric meter is outside . I've considered the Smart meter but everyone I know has had a bad experience, false readings etc.I don't have bannisters. Stairs are straight up from the hallway. Full wall on the left, half wall on the right up to the landing rails. I had a think and have relocated both laundry hampers to the dining room for now.Rather than filling them on the landing I'll add items downstairs as I go.There's only been me here since dd started shielding at her boyfriends so the dining room isn't being used.Glad you're almost over the effects of your 2nd jab. I feel a bit of a fraud. As someone who reacted badly in the past to vaccines I felt fine after the 1st. Waitng for the call for the 2nd so will see how that goes.Youngest reacted badly to both jabs feeling like she had a bad case of flu with the !st and blinding migraines with the 2nd and bad fibro and arthritis flares. The migraines have settled today but she's still flaring. She's overdue her meds but luckily has back ups factored in from years ago. I didn't like to leave the request outside in the surgery box when I nipped to the Coop Friday evening as they'd lie there until Monday so will put them in tomorrow on my way to see her. This has just reminded me I've forgotten to renew her annual Prepayment Prescription Certificate. it expired near the end of March. That's something I need to do now so will phone them.Sunny here today but not very warm. We've had some very cold sometimes frosty nights. Hoping the weather picks up.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I can't believe I missed the bit about the BIG SPIDER Shropshire Lass. You even put it in caps. I don't mind spiders. They come in during cold weather and I either put them out with the help of a piece of card and empty jar or let the ones that keep coming back stay for a while. However the very big have a tendancy to appear then go missing indoors. It's just over two weeks since I went to see youngest was meant to go Monday but she was too ill. When I got home last time I was carrying my coat upstairs and caught a glimpse of a huge spider on the wall near my head. It moved from there and reappears in various locations. Too quick to catch. I've been keeping all dooors closed but I've had some sleepless nights and found my thoughts going to is it still in or has it gone out when I was bringing the milk in or putting the bottles out. I envy those who can go to bed and go out like a light.Today has been a faffy day. I was trying to get through to NHS to renew the overdue PPC. They must have either gone for a day out or been very busy. I need to remember to put my reading glasses on when I should. I'd read it as 8am- 8pm. I've just read the info again 8pm- 6pm. Will try again tomorrow before going out.I've been keeping an eye open for a call from the surgery to arrange my second jab. I began to suspect the landline wasn't picking up messages again. Checked recent calls and the surgery no was on there for today. I rang back not my jab but they'd tried messaging youngest but no reply. I could tell them what they needed. I mentioned I was late putting the meds requests in as I was in pain and overtired. She did them as we were chatting so I don'yt need to drop them off on my way out tomorrow.Luckily after the last time the phone messages weren't coming through I'd picked up batteries when I was in the little Coop a few days ago. They didn't have any batteries when it happened first time so I got some when the had. I've remembered I pinched batteries out of a remote to get the message service back so no idea how old they were. The shower has already stopped working, had it for years so not surprising. The fire gave up just before Christmas so had to get a rather expensive electric heater for now. I'm beginning to think the house doesn't like me.I've manage to fill in my postal votes. Three lots counciller, metro mayor and police commisioner,Second vote need for the last two. I've had to look up the police candidates. Councillers not very good. Voted for our current Metro Mayor he's not brilliant but did stand with the mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham to get some sense out of the Govt.Time to make a list of what I need tomorrow. I would love to stay in bed for a day or so but needs must.At least there's a long weekend coming up. I need to remember to phone about the PPC in the morning . Will put a reminder by the phone.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I've just checked when I started part 2. 11th October2019. No wonder we were relaxed and happy sitting on a bench in the October sunshine. We could never have imagined how much things would change.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
