I tend to hunker down in Winter Mar but you've got a good point. With no appts and carefully planned shopping, meds pick ups etc. I'm not going out much. If I still drove I'd make an effort to go somewhere quiet for some fresh air and daylight. I am lucky to have the gardens so will aim to get into the back one instead. With being in dds bubble our meet ups are in the large gardens there socially distancing. She's much better than I am at making sure she is getting the vitamins and minerals needed both from food and supplements. Rather than retreating under the duvet if she had been here she has her bf and the cats. She's working on the vegan cooking and keeping up her physio exercises so helping herself stay as well as possible.I must try harder. I think after all the years of effort my body said rest. I find the mental effort involved when in town tiring . We were in a way training for this for years especially during flu and norovirus season and have always carried anti viral/anti bacterial hand foams when out and about. Opening shop doors with an elbow were second nature and exit stage left if someone statred couging and sneezing. The thing now is we never imagined Covid which has more of a mental impact than flu and norovirus season.I worry for those alone and struggling many without a decent roof let alone a garden.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Hi All,
What a lovely thread you have going here. I've have read all the way though over the last few days 😊
I have Fibromyalgia, was diagnosed last year after a 6 year battle to get to the bottom of all my symptoms etc. Have had several appointments cancelled since March.
Pollyanna the rescue type box you talk about sounds extremely useful. Could you be so kind as to let me know what you reccomend keeping in one? I think it would be a fantastic idea to put one together. Especially for over the winter months and with everything going on.
I hope everyone is keeping well. The weather has really changed for the worse here this last week. Ive had the heating on all week and the heat pads in bed. I always flare at this time of year so am trying to rest as much as possible whilt trying to prepare for the winter and get the "C" word shopping sorted ( 2 DC age 12 and 9) so I dont have to worry closer to the time and can take the time I need to rest.
Take care all Just Mum x

Hi 👋👋 WCS here with a name change.
Can I re-join you? No idea why but I can't get back in as me😊😊😊. Hope you're all doing ok. I'm just getting through the days trying to hold everything together in this increasingly surreal world. Off for a read back, and try and figure out how this all works - so different from the old green version 😊😊4 -
Hiiii WCS, hope yer ok up there hen!

Oh Mar looks like you've had a tough old time of it! So sorry to hear that. How's the rv doing?
Polly ditto for you and your daughter - but delighted all her benefits were renewed😊
My health has deteriorated - the first biologic I tried, cosentyx, worked ok for a while but I had a massive stress induced flare-up over the summer and I've changed to a humira bio-similar - early days yet. Still taking 2 dmards and various other things.
Lockdown hasn't really changed my day to day life all that much - most of my health appointments have been online which has saved the 5 hour round trip. Grocery delivery has come to my corner of scotland, just tesco, so that's been a help too
Really just pottering along trying to stay positive. Really wish I'd done more earlier in my health journey to prepare for now though, am so frustrated by how little I can do.5 -
Brilliant re Tesco delivering! I dono what I'd do without Sainsbugs every week. I know some on the Addisons group are on Humira - I dono what for, but they seem to be ok, nobody was moaning about it. RV is ok but a lot tireder and weaker than he used to be before the bypass.I absolutely know what you mean in that last sentence WCS. I'm very strong mentally and very positive, calm, etc - but I get so frustrated at how knackered I am all the time.

Welcome to Just Mum. Another for the fibro fog gang. The first thread had lots of useful hints and tips but would take some time to read. I hope we'll see you here. As i said in an earlier post the thread usually goes very quiet but I hope we can support each other through covid, brexit and the coming months. It's good to see you back here WCS I do keep you in mind . I hope the new biologic does help. Dd is in never ending flares. She's had blood tests from the practice nurse but is now overdue one. No contact since her rheumo consultant did phone appt a while ago after her rheumo nurse did a phone appt. She had to miss the MTX last week and will today, Superdoc says leave it if flaring badly. An oral steroid would help , it's his usual first step before a steroid injection but immune supressed with everything flaring isn't suitable in the present situation.I can't remember if you applied for ESA and or PIP. I was surprised dd was awarded enhanced and support group again. The assessers report was a work of fiction and it worried me when it arrived . A day or two later the award letter arrived from the decision maker stating she'd dismissed the assesers report as it disagreed with medical evidence, medication , the GPs report and had noted 2 weekly all the year round appts.I hope the family are well. Is your son still on the boats? I'm so glad you took early retirement especially with the pandemic adding to the daily stress.Any sign of an appt yet Mar? I've been meaning to get in touch. Along with her previous efforts dd has been dabbling in diy dentistry. It seems it's ok as she's done it before! I look for the grey hairs each time but none yet. I'll probably wake up one morning and my hair wil be pure white.I was intending to go to town today but too tired just a quick trip to the little Coop and as the notification came through from the pharmacy this morning tomorrow will be pharmacy, and probably Marks food hall for a few things. Shelves are being cleared in SBs and staff still aren't wearing masks so I'm not planning on going there on a Saturday. We've been pushed into the Liverpool city region restrictions although we aren't Liverpool. The Metropolitan changes dragged us in. So a quick shop tomorrow , pick up the meds and drop them on the drive for dds boyfriend then some extreme social distancing with dd and the cats. At least the bubble is still allowed. Six months in and I am turning into Shirley Valentine talking to the walls.Meanwhile polly the prepper is very unprepared for Brexit. I seem to have spent a lot of time on the phone trying to sort what's going on. I found a You Gov thing on the website last night re those shielding. As I suspected everything pretty well came to a halt at the beginning of August. .That explians having to chase the meds as the practice manager wasn't phoning me for the meds order. There's stuff about you should go out- well apart from a few quiiet walks around the block they'll need a fork lift truck to get dd out. She's staying put and as an adult that's her choice but I agree with her. I'd feel much better if she wasn't doing diy treatment but so far no issues. I've been trying to imagine Superdocs reaction when he hears the tale. Knowing him he'll either laugh or faint.Sending positive vibes to all . Take care.pollyxPS I'm glad you got your user name back WCS. Any chance you could sort out Ming/ Mar / Mardy Wotsit or as one OS poster used to say Madarthur .She was probably nearest the mark.It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
