If you haven't already Mar Get to bed!I.m just heading up mysef. It's raining and a bit cooler upstairs. Been talking online to youngest who seems to have UTI. Luckily she has cranberry capsules in her box of tricks and her BF will get some Cranberry Juice from the village tomorrow. If I was to prioritise a few words of advice I'd say collect a box of tricks. The stuff in hers meant only a faint scar when she self treated that bad scald - without my knowledge and it healed well. I don't recommend that but it kept her from the hospital and she was lucky she knew what she was doing.Track everything medical or DWP in a diary and keep all medical and DWP stuff for future reference.Ask any hospital or other places , physio, OT etc for a copy of their feedback to the GP . He tells us anyway but it's handy to whip out as evidence at various times and handing it to another consultant , doctoe , nurse etc is a lot easier than trying to recall stuff . DWP always get loads from us as well as from Superdoc and others. My eyes are drooping, although it's August I've made a hot chocolate and hot water bottle which should send me to sleep. I'll push the hot water bottle to one side of the bed in case the Sciatica kicks off again.Sleep Tight All.pollyx

Polly and MingVase I hope that you both managed to get some rest and sleep and that you are both feeling better soon.
I have been tired and a bit low/discombobulated for a few days, I sleep well, but feel weary and lacking energy a lot of the time, then it clears for a while and I get stuff done and feel brighter - it will pass, must pay more attention to diet and the supplements that I need!
6 monthly check up with Immunologist was in the form of a telephone consultation yesterday. Worked well, I had not met the Dr, but knew of him and he is personable, easy to talk to and as well as running though my own situation he was able to give me the department's thoughts on vaccine, likely suitability for my condition and the results of some data-mining that he and my usual wonderful doc are involved in. That was less good news, the information gleaned shows that my particular type of Immune deficiency fares the worst of the group, having a much higher chance of a severe reaction and poor outcome if we contract Covid19.
He agreed with my thoughts on being extremely circumspect about what I do and where I go for the short and medium term, living in a small town surrounded by countless miles of farmland (Shropshire and close neighbours Herefordshire are extremely rural), makes me feel very blessed.

I haven't disappeared, just extremely tired. We had Bessie the English Springer Spaniel staying for a week; she's a lovely dog, very affectionate and loving, but she has so much energy that I use up ALL my spoons and borrow on the following week's whenever she stays. She's so worth it though; and we both love her to bits. To give you an idea, we have to throw a tennis ball in the back garden until she's so tired that she lies down on the grass, before we take her for a walk, because if we didn't, she'd be all over the place, and she's extremely strong. She's great fun though, and I although know it's going to knacker me, I do love having her here.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)3

LameWolf - having had the privilege and pleasure of having Sam the ESP in my life for almost 14 years I understand exactly what your mean about Bessie. Before I got crook, OH and I spent all our holidays, with our dogs, walking in the UK, we could be out all day, him off the lead where appropriate, get back to base, all crash, eat etc, after half an hour he would be ready to go again, loved him to bits. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Good news - I just had a text convo with Bessie's Mama, and she wants me to have Bessie for another week towards the end of the month. Would do the Happy Dance if I was able to.@maddiemay I bet Sam will always live on in your heart; just like my PennyDogIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)4

I'm back and considering changing my username to Laptop Issues. It seems odd to be posting when in a few months the winter usually means many hunker down and in the past this thread and the previous one went pretty quiet. However we aren't living in normal times this year and in many ways there isn't a great deal of clarity for those still needing to shield or at least choose their battles. Many feel cut off from much needed treatment or advice. I'm well aware not everyone is fortunate enough to have a Superdoc in their corner although iin England GPs are often as confused as ourselves. I don't know about other areas of the UK but the focus has shifted from caring for those considered vulnerable and at high risk to the economy. I understand people need security of employment but has become the main focus.Something that worked well on both the previous and this thread was sharing information and experiences. Like many here my dd and I have been following the rules from March , she is still told to shield. However since shielding was ended officially there's very little support or information for those remaining indoors. Many are struggling waiting for urgent treatment or facing long phone queues to speak to reception at surgeries to access an online or phone consultation with their doctor or other health worker. According to our practice manager the Gps aren't getting the info or support they need now as they did when shielding was introduced. It's lovely to see friends have been posting here. I'm going to read the posts I missed to catch up. I hope all including those who read rather than post are OK and plodding on. I have had so many in my mind since March including those who no longer post. Hopefully we can form our own support bubble here. Doesn't have to be all serious stuff , just friendship which is much needed at the moment.Take carepollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

We don't mention the E word. You're supposed to be a reformed character. The sun is disappearing now but it was nice while it lasted. An elderly gentleman I knew used to describe today's weather as "Fresh" in other words blowing a hoolie. He lived until the age of 89 and was up and out on his push bike at the crack of dawn each day. He was a real character and much missed. So what are you up to today? Nothing illegal I hope.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Been the nicest day for age up here today. Blue skies warm sun. Very welcome! I think we're all going to have to try hard to get outside even for half an hour a day, throughout this winter.
