I’d rather they sorted the technical issue out and rectified before I was flying on the plane. Better to take the time to have the mechanics fit properly rather than think at 2h59min ‘!!!!!! it, best let it go so we don’t have to pay out Compo’.

Except that in most cases that would be illegal.

Any airline that was to have a serious accident caused by deliberate technical neglect would be out of business very quickly.

Just look whats happening to Boeing over the MAX issues.

Nah... TUI should’ve just closed the hatches, kept their fingers crossed, and departed on time. I mean the odds of a smoking hole in the ground are pretty low, right?

Is that a Boeing Max in the pic? Brave.

    A B767-300.

And by the small scratch above the 23rd window along on the starboard side it might be G-OBYG. ;)

I got this message yesterday from Tui, relating to the delay on the 11th October.

" I’m happy to confirm that as a result of the delay – as per EU Regulations – you’re entitled to £712 (Seven Hundred Twelve Pounds) compensation."

Still nothing from Bott & Co!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not bad for 4 hours sat around at Manchester is it?

For future reference, if you’ve submitted a claim to a Solicitor/Claims Company then be very careful about also submitting a direct claim yourself. There’s been cases in the past of Claims handlers pursuing people for work done on their behalf when the customer has subsequently claimed direct from the airline.

Bott are a reputable solicitor and are unlikely to chance their arm. But if you’ve signed an agreement with them and they had done work on your case, then they’d be within their rights to invoice you for that work.

I used Bott and Co in the spring for another flight. Today I got the cheque from Tui.
