Hi,
I have booked my family of 5 flights for next saturday with FlyLoLo for Manchester>Tenerife South and following the Glasgow cancellations, they will now be cancelling these flights.
I am writing to ask about my options, as of yet they have only said they are cancelling the Manchester flights by the telephone but nothing is in writing yet which i know i need.
I've been reading on the CAA and it states that they need to offer me a rescheduled flight or refund. Ideally, i would like a rescheduled flight but I know this sham of a airline is not going to reschedule for anytime soon - if at all.
If i book new flights and pay over the odds, how do i go about reclaiming the money for my new flights? Flights are currently around 50% more than originally paid.
I am aware that i am able to also claim compensation with the CAA also.
Thanks for your help at this stressful time!
Liam

I never even realised they did. Have you got a link?

EU261 compensations claims should be made directly to the airline, are you maybe mixing that up?
note: I would not be too surprised if the company shut up shop...no claims against an airline that no longer exists. (the director has had previous companies in administration)0 -
The airline looks ludicrious...fly out people on Day 1 on a 5h flight, fly plane back empty, go back with empty plane on Day 7 to pick them back up again. Fuel costs that cheap are they?0

Isn't "Lolo" a slang word in the same vein as "threpenny bits" and "Bristol Cities"?
Seems appropriate0 -

never quite worked out the business model...seemed to be advertise and sell tickets, take peoples money and then see if you can find a plane....seems bizarre
Customer confidence will be zero...media coverage (should anyone choose to research) is all about cancelling
first 2000 passengers when they cancelled the summer flights from Southampton, now 900 from Glasgow
They state that they don't take EU261 claims as they need to be made directly to 'the airline'....however they describe themselves as a 'flight operator' and any airline would be operating on lolo's behalf (wet lease/charter?)
May not be simple EU261 claims as I expect they will reject them but I would hope that a court should decide that they should be 'the airline' for claims and the people that have their holidays ruined with other losses at least get their refunds and €400 each ... EU261 was set up to protect passengers from last minute cancellations
Good luck0 -
liamcatt - you need to download Vauban's excelent guide so that you are up speed with the 261/2004 regulations on both compensation and are-routing expenses.
Good luck, I think you'll need it.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
The alleged Ringleader.........0 -
Flylolo is not an airline. It arranges charter flights. It is effectively a tour operator.
I don’t think EU261 compensation will be applicable here.0
