new neighbours HELP

  • You will have to talk to them first, read up on assertiveness if you feel you need to as there is a right way and a wrong way to confront people. Basically just state your point and say how you feel about it. "I feel its quite noisy due to the thin walls and would like to work something out so we dont disturb one another".

Be friendly and polite, introduce yourself and show that your offering a solution rather than a problem. The thing about plebs is, they can be reasonable if you give them the option.

That really is your only option - no ones going to come to your rescue and the council will usually only get involved after things gave been going very wrong for quite a long time.
  • I'd recommend the polite 'hello, we're your neighbours, just to let you know the walls are quite thin, hope we haven't disturbed you' approach first, followed by a diary of noisy events and then contacting your local noise team - which may well end up with a notice being served and their stereo taken away, if they're as stupid as the people downstairs from us were.

Nice one, always warms my heart to hear about stupid and unpleasant people getting their comeuppance! :rotfl: There is hope!
