There's very little difference in terms of quality between the two brands - both are made to exacting standards.
If anything, the Chasseur range is better presented (white/silver boxes with tags attached with a baby blue satin ribbon
). Chasseur cocottes also come with "self-basting" ridged lids whereas Le Creuset lids are smooth - the idea is that steam condenses on the ridges and then drips back onto the roast, keeping it moist.
Every bit as good as Le Creuset!
I agree with you, but Le Creuset ovel cocotes also have riged lids and the same effect. Older Le Creuet ones (and specially Le Creuset/Cousances) had smooth inner lids.Going to war over religion is basically killing one another to see who's got the better imaginary friend...

This is ceramic, not the cast iron casserole dish.0

The offer is def for the cast iron ones, mine went through until I had cancelled. I only wanted two as already have Le Crueset and thought if I sold the others I could pay for the two I wanted.
Having looked on ebay though, decided it wasn't worth the risk of ending up with the house of cast iron0 -
It says in the middle of the page in the product description that this is stoneware.0

According to this page they are the cast iron casserole dishes ... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_51510865_2?ie=UTF8&docId=1000135493&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=right-1&pf_rd_r=1SXYHZ00FZV6PK110C1M&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=166020391&pf_rd_i=1000114383
If they do turn out to be stoneware then I'm sure Trading Standards would be interested in a product mis-representation, not to mention that we'd be able to return them and have full costs reimbursed.
PS I notice all the black ones have now all gone so I'm glad I got my order in early enough

The Chasseur ones are cast iron and state so on the page.
The Le Creuset one is ceramic and states this on the page (which is from your link).
I don't think the ceramic ones are a good buy at this price.0
