  • There are quite a few TK Maxx stores up here in Yorkshire. It can be quite hit and miss but worth a mooch if you're in the mood. I got a fab and v. cheap Marco Pierre White saute pan from there a few months back.

I'm on the lookout for a tagine at the mo. but they haven't had any in for ages.

Ours generally has a varied selection of Le Crueset and Le Chassuer stuff in at fairly reasonable prices.

For those who missed out on the Le Creuset 22cm dish, Tesco are selling a 22cm round cast iron casserole in cream for £13.50 plus delivery. The finish isn't as good as Le Creuset, but at least it's the same size and colour :) :

I fully agree with Alemild. I've had a set of green Le Creuset dishes for years. Recently, Nisbets catering equipment sent me a flier for clearance cast iron Vogue dishes. Free delivery if you spend over £30 exc VAT.

For less than £80 I received the following cast iron green enamelled items:

    1 x 6 litre oval casserole dish
    1 x 4 litre round casserole dish
    1 x 3.75 litre oval casserole dish
    2 x rectangular roasting dishes 36 x 21 x 6.5cm
    2 x 1.65 litre oval gratin dishes 34 x 21 x 6cm
    2 x 0.75 litre round gratin dishes 19 x 19 x 4.5cm

I have to say that I am absolutely delighted with them. The green is slightly darker than my Le Creuset, but complements it well.

To be fair, the finish on Le Creuset is of marginally better quality. For example, the underneath of the bases on some of my Vogue cookware were slightly "gritty" and the last thing I would want to do is scratch my induction hob. It only took me five minutes with a dremel to smooth the cast iron and all is fine. Just like Le Creuset, they are a pleasure to cook with.

Vogue make their cast iron in other colours too.

The link to Nisbets clearance is:
    http://www.nisbets.co.uk/products/ProductList.asp?TopGroupCode=C15&ParentGroupCode=S256&GroupCode=10106

Only the green cookware is on offer, but even at normal price, the other colours are a bargain too in my opinion.

Usual disclaimers apply. I have no link with Vogue or Nisbets ... except I am a happy customer.:j

Thanks for the post, I have looked at the site and ordered several. They look good value and I hope I am as happy with them as you seem to be.

Just an update on the order! Nisbets phoned me to say that the payment would not go through. I phoned the bank and was told that it was Nisbet's Terminal that was faulty:confused:. I then phoned Nisbets to advise the on this but found it was set to voicemail, so I left a message asking them to call me. Needless to say no one did, so I later checked the order on the website and found that is was shown as pending and that also a £5 delivery charge had been added, that was not on the confirmation email received this morining. I phoned Nisbets again and found that I could only speak to the Call Centre staff, as everyone else had gone home. He confirmed that the order would not be going out tonight and that the £5 delivery charge should not be on. He could give no reason for it being added. I explained that I would have thought that someone would have phoned to confirm that the payment had gone through or not. He replied that it was not looking too good and that someone would phone me tomorrow. So much for the next day delivery, when we both would have been home. Now we are back to our usual hit or miss with deliveries.
