Thanks for that web site Pandora, a great idea!

We're leaving the count down to you - and any one else who wishes - so keep it going.

I have a 500 euro tin that's full of silver (they'd run out of £1 when I tried to buy) and a pot with coppers too. It's very exciting knowing that it's all waiting to be counted.

Even the kids are suggesting ways of spending it now. (I've had plans for ages but now I'm rethinking).

I just hope the bank will take it all when the time comes!

Pop in to your bank and get the proper bags in readiness for the great day Pandora, there should be no problems with them taking it from you then. After saying that, they don't care about bags when they're demanding penalties now do they! Glad I'm not the only one that keeps changing my mind about how best to spend it, natural I guess.

Thanks Sue - I'm off to the bank tomorrow and I'll grab loads of bags in great anticipation!

    getting exciting now:T

We have finally decided what to do with the money; we have a small loan to clear and hopefully we should do that. Our family is now looking forward to the new challenge and we are going to choose our reward too, so we have a target.:D
It's been a real family affair and DS brought home 7p yesterday from pennies found on the way home from school.

With regards to changing the bags for notes, be careful as some banks have limits on daily amounts you can change, and some are really grotty about it. I do banking for work so they are happy taking whatever as they think it's business stuff ;)

    Hi wanttobeasaver,
Welcome to the challenge, we'd love you to join in, we're having the opening "ceremony", on 1st December, and re-starting on the 2nd December. Sue will be around that day (not too presumptious I hope Sue lol) to allocate you a new number. Whatever you've managed to save this year no matter how large or small will be a bonus.

Hope everyone else has had a good day
