Hi Just found this one and would love to join if I can. I found my tin in poundland for, funnily enough, £1 and it is basically like a very large food tin with the slot on top which you can only open with a tin opener. thus you will only be able to open it once so I cannot keep pinching bus fares etc out of it. Have no idea how much it will hold as 10p, 20p, 50p and £1 coins will all go in. (Must admit there will be more 10ps than £1s) Also have a small teddy bank which holds coppers and a big bottle for 5ps so idea is when they fill I will bag and convert that into £1 coins and add those to the big tin. Already have £6 of coppers all bagged and ready to make some poor bank tellers day.
I presume this is similar to others on here but have not had time to read back properly. (too many pages!)
Hope i can go on the list
    Thanks

i know im a couple of days late but i am going to join this challage if thats ok! Haven't got a pot yet though... is pound stretcher the best place to get them?

    Definitely!

See what I mean about not having read back at other posts.......:o
  • To the folk who are new to the thread, its dead easy, grab something you think will hold loads of change (most people are using these terramuni thingys, i've got a big whiskey bottle and phil the pigs around here somewhere....) and you don't open/smash/empty it till 1st Dec 2008.... there you go, thread condensed! lol, although i DO recommend a look at Phil the Pig. He's great!

  • I would like to take part in this challenge. Sad thing is though, when I went into Poundland to get the recommended sealed tin I could'nt bring myself to pay out a pound to buy one! I definitely will next week but in the meantime I'm using a jar.

  • Haven't been out today so no chance of any fresh change for the pot.

But, DH 'lost' 3 pieces of a brand new jigsaw someone gave him to drop off at the charity shop and which he couldn't resist completing first:rolleyes: . By helping him rummage down the chair and sofa I managed to 'find' £1.35 (just shows how thoroughly I do my housework :o ) and it's now added to my pot. Still haven't found the jigsaw pieces though:eek:

Great news just before xmas and a fantastic inspiration for you.

Have sealed my biscuit tin with parcel tape. Works much better than the pickle jar which I kept pearing into as it was see-through :rotfl:
