  • So last night I made my sealed pot (OH got me a giant whiskey bottle) and lo and behold, the 2ps and 10ps don't fit in it! So now I have two sealed pots.... whiskey bottle for little coins, baby formula tin for big coins! Even the simple tasks are not really simple :D

welcome to everyone who has joined lately. I will update the list of whos int his challenge later..im still in shock! some sales guy came to my door and he looked dodgy and spoke dodgy..he said if i was intersted in a grant for heating. I said no no and he said have u already got it so i said yeh yeh and went to close door...i did and also locked it..but just as i had finished locking it, he pushed handle down and realsing it was locked he kicked my door. i ran upstairs and rang the police but not 999. I was shaken as soon as he kicked the door but when i was actually at the door i was so calm. Police said thy would get offices to look out for him and visit me if needed. I was home alone i never answer the door as my oh usually does but il never answer again when im alone. Im just scared that they might come back another night thats only reason why i rang police and that there is old people live round here. I will be sleepin with a knife and my phone tonight lol

are you ok mumzyof2? calling the police was the right thing to do. this guys probably got a history of doing this. Just take a deep breath. You did brilliantly.

  • I'm definitely in on this one. Funnily enough I saw one of these pots in our local super duper garden centre yesterday and promised to buy myself one for my 50th birthday in December (16) however I could nip in and get one before then and start on Saturday. It will be good to know others are doing this too. Great challenge.

They've got them at our garden centre too, it seems such a shame to smash them though. I remember when I was a kid and had a big china pig with a lockable door underneath and the key was lost. We just put a table knife in the slot and the coins slid out one by one with a bit of shaking. I use my pigsback pig for £2 coins. I know I'm losing interest by not having it in a savings account but it's less tempting to dip into like this.
