 No waaaaaaaaaaay!! If I really DID have a 4' balloon made into a papier mache animal I'd be keeping it right there in the middle of the room, with a board on top as a coffee table! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'd love to create a giant pink pig and sit it outside the pub at closing time, though! Can you imagine the looks that would get from passing drunks? And the spare change?!I reserve the right not to spend.

I can't afford to risk £12.99 without a grant from the Arts Council (edited in - and some personal insurance), but guess what I spotted now? 2" diameter by 5 feet long! And they are only 8p each! What about a giant octopus?? That'd only be 64p for his tentacles! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'm moving to the papier mache thread with this before I get bombed out of here for going off topicI reserve the right not to spend.

It's great to think of all you papier-mache workers having a totally no-spends post-Christmas, plus doing your bit for recycling too:beer:
Someone once gave DH a 'gadget' (which they'd bought and didn't think worth the effort:rolleyes: ) for making 'briquettes' out of old newspapers to burn on the fire. We had a shed-full of these briquettes all ready for burning at one time. DH used to scrounge old papers from all and sundry to keep up with this little 'industry'. Thankfully it was something he was happy to do without any input from me(apart from begging old newspapers from people!) and kept him busy in the shed for hours on end:j . They weren't anything like as good as coal or wood for a long-lasting blaze but he was dead chuffed that he'd saved a few pounds over the winter:rotfl:0 -
