So i dont make many trips via dartford crossing and had an online account with £15 in it. thats the minimum you could top up by when i created the account.
logged into today as i had an email about them closing the account because i dont make many crossings and i still have £9.99 credit
and they want more money to activate it when it already has money in it...........

You account has closed due to inactivity. You can re-open the account by making a payment or by making a crossing in a vehicle which is linked to the account.

It took you less than four minutes to get your money back?
But, as the post says, to re-activate your account only required actually using the crossing in a vehicle linked to the suspended account. Which, as you point out, has credit.

£10 balance is enough for 5 crossings. At your current level of use, that's close on a decade's-worth at a minimum...0 -

it did indeed thank you for spotting that, but that 4 minutes included my typing aswell0 -
How did you get your money back? I also have a dart charge account with credit that I am unlikely to use .0

Log in to your account and find the refund button. I did it a couple of months back when I got a similar e-mail. Cheque arrived within the week.I need to think of something new here...0

Is there anything wrong with the auto Pay system where they just take the money from your account? Seems much better than tying money up or forgetting to pay.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I suggest using auto pay system as well. They just take money from card when you cross the river.0

With the dart tag system there is a 33% discount. Is there a discount with auto pay?0

£10 gives you 5 crossings? Ever since they moved to that number plate system my main concern going South (or coming back) is to avoid the crossing at all costs.
Maybe I need to invest the time in working out how to use it!0 -

Apparently not, it looks like the full amount is taken
