or if you actually want a decent laptop go to the folks who make them for tosh and sony - asus, far better.
But as to the op's original Q then if not lugging it arround the larger one will be nicer to use ie bigger keyboard, screen etc but if carrying arround then the smaller one.
If it's just the speed of your old one and you just use it for the internet, emails and office type applications then maybe have a look at putting some verison of linux on as it will probably run alot more smoothly and quicker than it does with windows.0 -

The compaq has dropped by £150 it is now £449 go through quidco and get 2.5% off and use code YAWN07 (pc world)to get 5% off bringing it to about £416 so no contest really I bought one having seen it at pc world looks sturdy enough and a good specs too.0
