15.4 Display

Dell Inspiron

will it leave the house, a 17" is big, a bit too big to lug abbout for most but if its going to sit on your coffee table go for it.

i would trust dell over compaq thought toshiba are one of the few laptop brands i would actually buy .
  • Hi reluctant spender thanks for that.

epz it will probably just sit on my desk. I have a Toshiba now and its been fine, but I've had it 4 years and it's very slow so time to upgrade.

    Many thanks for your input.

Please anyone else feel free to comment as I welcome all advice/thoughts on this.

  • Forget DELL... what is it with people on this site and DELL.. They are just another over hyped pile of dung..

For a laptop it has to be TOSHIBA... Simply the best lappies around

    You are spending £600/
Have you considered giving a thought for Apple MAC ? They are brilliant machines and amazing things you can do with them.

I switched from windows and will never go back.

    Good luck.
  • The Dell Inspiron easily. Nice laptops, not the best, but nowhere near the worst. I find the mousepad thingy a bit unsensitive, so get a USB mouse with it and you will be laughing:)
  • Dell. No question.

If it's going to sit on a desk why are you getting a laptop? Why not just get a Desktop with a bigger monitor?

  • Oh dear, more DELL fans.. are you the same peeps that reckon england did OK the other night..

Look, DELL make business PC's and Laptops.. The parts used, i.e. motherboard are specific to dell and when you get problems you HAVE to deal with dell..

PC's are always a personal choice, but facts are facts and pound for pound, Toshiba lappies out perform DELL everytime.

I'm sure the original post asked for opinions between a Compaq and a Dell.

Correct me if I am wrong.
