I think it might be easier for me to treat it like a savings account and open a new current account to keep my spending money in.
Keep the flexdirect as £2,500 savings account and move surplus savings to Marcus0 -

I think you're thinking of the FlexPlus account, that comes with a monthly fee? Unless there's a legacy account I'm not aware off that has extra features...

You'll lose full branch access and the free European travel insurance (if you have it) as a long time FlexAccount holder. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

IIRC, it was about a year ago that the rules were changed. New FlexAccounts no longer have the insurance, and you can very easily lose it on old accounts if you fail to meet to eligibility criteria once.0 -

You're able to pay cheques into a FlexDirect, you just have to use a machine or an ATM if it's available. (If your branch doesn't have either then you can use the counters.)urs sinserly,

I'd have thought someone with a 20 year old FlexAccount would have the free insurance on it, unless they're funding with less than £750 per month.0
