I must have a very special Pipit 500 on my Secure Liberty 100 meter then, as it does show the cumulative units of electricity. This is the same as the "Meter Reading".

Mine was installed by Ovo about 5 years ago.

Press Menu, History, Hour, Day, Week, Month. Cumulative is on the "Month" screen.

However it does not display the cumulative units of gas in cubic meters!

This is a major fail for so called smart meters as many meters are in inaccessible places or can't be read by the disabled.

Most of us are not interested in the cost per hour £/h or carbon emissions CO2kg etc. but being able to read the meter registers remotely on the IHD is a basic function that not all smart meters provide.

Yes, I've seen that. You'd think that it would be the same as the reading from the meter itself but, in my case, it isn't - it's about 20 more than the actual meter reading.

I've worked out why this is. When the meter was installed, the cumulative kWh could be read by pressing '9'. Octopus have configured it to use the reading obtained by pressing '6' four times, which I believe was originally the daytime reading (for those with different day & night readings). So they are actually using what was originally the daytime reading but now is the only reading available when cycling through the options on the '6' button.

Looks like they've given me some free electricity :)

I don't have gas, so not aware of the issues there.

I certainly find the electricity reading very convenient, due to having the meter in a fairly inaccessible location.
