You can't go to Trading Standards direct, you'll have to go via the Citizens Advice.Debi.harmony said:I will do that, thank you ever so much for the advice,

Don't tell me... It's from an "engine reconditioners"...?Debi.harmony said:So the end of feb i bought an engine and had it delivered to garage, there was 30days warranty on it and when he sends my old engine to them i get 6 months warranty. (sounds good!)0 -
Why did you source this replacement engine? Did garage agree to this? Seems like you are in a hole and keeping digging."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

An interesting aside from other posts on here in the past. I asked my mechanic if I ever needed a replacement engine would he buy it and his reply (which won't come as a surprise to most on here) is no chance, it would be up to the customer to supply the engine.
Which makes perfect sense to me.
Debi are you sure it would not be more sensible to scrap the car?1 -
If he supplies, he's liable for issues with it. And, of course, he has absolutely no way of knowing if there are issues with a used engine...The_Rainmaker said:An interesting aside from other posts on here in the past. Hi the garage offered to supply and fit the engine. But soon realised he couldnt do it for the price he first said
( £500) so i said i would get the engine and he would fit it ect, so February i had an engine delivered to the garage, with 1 months warranty, but would be extended to 6months when they received my old engine,0 -
I would have scrapped the car but i still have a year left to pay on the car. 😭0
