My bedroom is ALMOST vaguely not utterly disgusting

I've just made enquiries about having Dot an ADHD assessment.. She cannot continue being cast as 'the naughty child' when she isn't really naughty.. just springy!!.. She is the sweetest, most loving little thing if you can get her to be still for 15 seconds. She has no real friend, never gets invited to parties and have never been to another childs house to play. It's really sad. She has been threatened with expulsion from Swimming for the second time and has been banned from dance after 2 lessons. She learned to ride a bike in 15 minutes though.. taught herself because everyone else was holding her back! I just think she would do better with a 'label' than she does being left without support and it will help her educators to know she has an additional need and bring her more understanding and help them teach her too. It's £1450 though and I have no idea where the money will come from but I have to find it somewhere for her benefit... might have to sell a kidney or 3 haha. (Services are so limited and understaffed here there are no assessment services unless you are willing to wait around 2 years and I think that will do her a disservice.) Anyway... Conjuring up cash (or finding a rich relly to pop off ~ as if I have any!) is my next miraculous feat.. I hate being poor when it comes to stuff like this.

Reception child 'I've got some conkers'.
    Self 'So you have.'
RC 'Have you got any conkers?'
    Self 'No, I haven't.'
    RC 'Why not?'
    Self *thinks* because I'm a 59 year old woman* 'I just haven't':rotfl:

    Evening all

    Paid stuff done
    Dailies done
    Errands run
Quick vac done of ground floor
    Bins and litter trays emptied
    Washing folded and put away
Another wash load done and put on airer.

Just finished work prep for tomorrow as well, I’m travelling in to the office so flying likely to be minimal. Just going to reset the kitchen then flump for a while.

Have a nice evening all x
  • Did the Parent's Evening. Only one person snapped at me for stuff that was absolutely nothing to do with me and wasn't a 'fault' in the first place. I think she was just having a bad day and I was the nearest thing to have a go at.

Got back, tired and cold (it absolutely tipped down here earlier), to find Himself and two mates recording again. So no food ready and lots of noise.

I'm shivering in my ridiculous Professional Working Attire, wrapped in a blanket and thinking dark thoughts about how annoying this is.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

  • Evening all got back from mini break with DH this evening.

Have actually unpacked the suitcases, done the laundry and changed the bedding on our bed.
Major achievement for me as whenever we go away the luggage is usually still sitting on the floor a week later.

Cleaned the sink and also the toilet and bathroom sink.
Need to get back to some proper flying tomorrow
    Swimming not drowning
  • Evening all,

I decluttered the bathroom while Pickle had his bath. Why did I not think of that weeks ago?

I've just finished cleaning out a couple of ik3a 'recycling' boxes that were garden storage (rubbish - they let water in) one of which is going to be repurposed into coat hanger storage in the bathroom. I hate coat hanger storage.
I made cake for GBBO - kitchen now a bombsite. Will fix in the morning when the dw is done.

Think I'm going to clean the bathroom tomorrow before work. It should be easier now it's tidier.

    Happy flying.

    Wish.

Narc0, I was thinking of you yesterday when a commotion high up in the trees alerted me to a flock of fairies in the wood :)

Yes, mine have finally reappeared this week, in a mixed flock with blue tits and great tits. And most exciting, a parakeet in the apple tree next door! I knew they were spreading out from London and had reached a few miles away, but that's a first in our village. Only one though, so it must be a pioneer or just lost!

    A fairly productive day:
    - zumba
    - drum practice
    - cleared out most of old tomato plants in greenhouse, just a few left.
    - pruned a few perennials.
    - decided the new report template, although almost done, isn't at the stage where I feel able to put my current writeup in it, so have done most of it in the old format. Will I finish it tonight? Hm.
    - cleared out another cupboard. This one was baking goods, jam, dried fruit and a whole load of other.....stuff. Goods sorted. Cupboard and drawers/shelves cleaned. As part of my ongoing cupboard tetris, I have put tea/coffee etc on one shelf. Not sure about the others yet. Hope it all starts looking better soon, it looks like an explosion site at present.
    - dealt with admin.

Mr N's bike trip isn't going too well so far. Torrential rain getting to Portsmouth yesterday and one friend's bike is playing up. Text this am said friend's battery is **** so Mr N and friend 2 have gone on the ferry without him. This evening's text reported heavy seas and Mr N has taken to his bunk; he's not a keen sailor. Friend 1 has confirmed he can't re-join them as there aren't many ferries to Bilbao this time of year.

    Oh well crack on.

That's a terrible price; wish I could help but I can only assess for ADHD in adults then it's their choice whether to go the 'medical' diagnostic route for confirmation; my report generally gets them the support funding. I'm sure you have investigated all possibilities like national support groups/advice lines, but surely their must be some funding in a dark corner somewhere? Not that there is much funding anywhere right now.

I know.. and the horrific thing is I know that if she was of university age they would assess her at the university without charge and without a second thought and it would all be sorted in 8 weeks... My oldest daughter was assessed within 6 weeks of starting uni for dyspraxia and referred immediately for help and support. That is no use for her really as an adult, but if she was 8 it really would be. I also have one bi-polar, and one aspie and one dyspraxia/dyslexia/social development delay.. the diagnoses really helped as they were growing up and especially in high school when they are branded 'a bad child' really fast with no offer of any help at all.

There is no funding for anything in this area that I am aware of. When I looked the cut off for funding help is 7.5 and she was 8 3 weeks ago.. so yes I am kicking myself massively.

This came about because I was looking at getting her a service dog to see if it would keep her a bit more grounded and stop her running off and being so erratic and I thought if I am looking at this amount of money for a dog and its training maybe we should just invest that in a proper diagnosis..
