Really on a Corsa....VX are not the best at equipping their cars with such nice stuff even if paid extra....I must say I had a Granada with a heated screen just the best thing ever on a car, my son just bought an Focus RS with it.......god I hate scraping the screen at 5am sucks!

Yep definitely the upgrade in 2014 have them.

Range rover classics had this back at the end of the eighties. Jlr didn't get them when ford took over.

You could get heated front screen panels for a series Landrover back in the 70s. Buses had them in the 70s, with the fine wires inside the glass, so I'm not sure what it was that Ford actually patented. I'm sure we had a Rover P6 with wires inside the rear window for a heater and that would have been late 60s.

I've no idea why it isn't standard on most cars, it would come in handy coming home from work on a frosty day. In a morning I just toddle outside before breakfast and put a fan heater inside the car to defrost it and warm it up.

Well thanks for the comments but we are still finding it near impossible to find a car!
haven't found a single Golf or Skoda with a proper heated windscreen, Jags and Landrover not suitable.
So can anyone find an actual car for sale that will fit the bill, yes we realise the radio can be upgraded so have taken that into account.
Fiestas seem the best bet but autos are rare and none anywhere near us, live in NE Lincolnshire.

    Go to the Autotrader site.
Bash in your postcode and how far you want to travel, select your price range 4000-6000, select automatic, and then type "heated front screen" into the more options box

Trouble is that using Autotrader it shows so many cars that do NOT have the essential heated windscreen! Try it.

Sorry, you have to put "heated front screen" inside speech marks to force a match on the phrase, otherwise it matches heated OR Front OR screen.

Anyway 318 matches between £4000 and £6000, mainly Fords.

Heated windscreen has definitely been an option on Skodas for at least a few years. We got a new Superb in 2016 (66 reg) and added one, having had one on our previous Mondeo and loved it!

MrTeapot uses the Superb for work and I have a different car. On winter mornings, I'm still sat on the drive trying to de-mist 10 minutes after he's left.

I think the patent Ford held on the heated screen expired years ago, hence lots of other makes having it. I didn't know that till I bought a Mini and it was an option and I was very happy :-) Cheap too at about £100 I think......but when I was looking at second hand ones I couldn't find a single one built in the previous 2 years in a 50 mile radius that had it. No-one had added it as an extra and I don't know why. Presumably if you've never had it you don't know how good they are.
