Our Ford Cmax has a heated windscreen and our DD borrowed it when her car was being worked on.
She leaves very early for work and really liked this feature. She would like a smaller, Fiesta, size car with this, she also wants an automatic, air.con, play her iPod and use bluetooth phone.
Budget small, £6k so not many cars out there, what would you recommend for her to buy?

My 65 plate Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost has all of those features (apart from the automatic gearbox) and no road tax either. Only problem is that you’re looking at £6,500 for a 2014 vehicle.....
    #2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £366

Radios can be updated after purchase & I would politely query just what do you get from Bluetooth.

All electric glass is wonderful though - front & back heat & clear which makes cold weather driving easier & the ability to open & close All front & back windows helps visibility at awkward angles too.

As far as google search goes, the list includes
    - Most Fords
    - Fiat 500/Panda
    - Most Land Rovers/Range Rovers
    - Most Jaguars
    - VW Golf Mk7
    - BMW Mini Mk3
    - Nissan Qashqai
    - Vauxhall Corsa
    - Vauxhall Astra
    - Skodas

A lot of these only have them as part of an optional "Winter Pack", and a few only warm the bit where the wipers sit.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

The Golf at least and possibly the Skoda, climate screen was an at cost option, when I had mine, you also had to have the ATC for the phone, so all in all the screen was £600 (I still went for it and love it) no wires in mine either.
  • I thought only Ford had them as they owned the copy right to the heated front screen.......why some Jags had it when they were owned by Ford, but I think it was up a couple of years ago now so other manufacturers will start to use it but they will be very new and out of your budget.

I'm not sure I may be wrong on this......

There is some truth in the wired version, SGS glass is embedded with metallic oxide which is conductive, as well as being able to be heated in colder or damp conditions, they also reflect UV light reducing heat inside the cabin in the hotter weather.

I'm semi sure some Corsas from 2014 have heated windscreens too.
