Modern quantum storage heaters

That's precisely why I suggested going to Citizens Advice ! They may well be able to find someone who can survey the existing configuration and identify and / or fix any problems such as storage heaters automatically being switched on at expensive peak times, plug-in devices such as tumble driers never being able to access cheap E7 rates, the immersion heater always on etc. That can't be done over the phone by a Co-Op lady. The survey cost or even the debt may be covered by a grant; I even linked to the relevant CA page.
The OP needs to get any problems with the existing configuration sorted out before thinking of switching, it's just causing the debt to get worse. It would also help if the OP responded to the questions that have been asked, so that forumites can provide more targeted and relevant advice.0 -
What questions would you like me to answer?0

My post re Coop tariff please ? When did it start, due to finish, what is it ?
Just trying to help you make the most of this mess.
And a new one : did you pay for the Quantum heaters or did the HA ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

My last tarrif has just ended. The fixed sept 19. Co Op have messed me about and not sorted new one yet. HA paid for storage heaters, I wanted oil but they said no0 -
Go back to Coop and ask them for their best E7 tariff - since Sept 19 you have been paying at their Standard (ie expensive tariff).
Your HA doesn't seem to have helped you.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

HA have been useless and even CAB hasn’t helped much. Would E7 be more beneficial? When I asked the complaints lady at Co Op she didn’t want me to lose my cheap afternoon rate.0 -
Oh dear, you've probably ended up defaulting to their standard tariff and that'll be even more expensive. You're just letting things go from bad to worse. My last tarrif has just ended. The fixed sept 19. Co Op have messed me about and not sorted new one yet.
With a massive debt, you probably won't be able to the the Co-Op: it probably won't be that lady's decision, it'll be a case of The Computer Says No. And you probably wouldn't find anyone else prepared to take you on.
But there's nothing to stop you checking out all the Co-Op's current tariffs NOW and switching to the one that's best for you. That's down to you, you're online, and it's not up to them to 'sort something out'.
You probably don't need a cheap afternoon rate now that you have storage heaters, E10 and suchlike were designed for wet systems and underfloor heating where there is little or no storage element. E7 is probably cheaper, and will allow you to switch to other suppliers when you have reduced your debt. When I asked the complaints lady at Co Op she didn’t want me to lose my cheap afternoon rate.
But get your timing and circuit switching sorted out urgently, that's probably the root cause of your woes.0 -

Actually not being on a new tarrif is Co Ops fault. I pay £85 a month and if I switched to a new tarrif it would go up by £50 a month. Sales cannot keep it at £85 so waiting for complaints team to sort.
You always assume I’m at fault when you don’t know that facts.
And how do I sort out timing and circuit switching ?0 -
One fact is that if your fixed tariff has ended then, by definition, you are already on a new tariff ! ! It's probably costing an arm and a leg. Check your online account and find out what it is, or call them.
You haven't told the other facts us so we can't help you... no good telling the doctor you're ill but refusing to say where it hurts.
Timing and circuit switching: see whether someone can do a check via the Priority Service Register. At least you'll have someone to read the meter every three months and they may well be able to check whether you're on E10 timings and switchings. You might even find that it's Houbara !
If not, check whether your HA, Citizens Advice, Age UK or similar can suggest someone, perhaps a volunteer or an inexpensive 'Sparks'. You simply MUST be aware of your exact tariff and whether you have problems such as an E7 but hardware that's switching at E10 times.0 -

Yes will check my account. What facts do you need to know?0
