Hi! I wonder if anyone else has had problems with a company called Appliances Direct? Their customers service people go out of the way to fob you off. Anyone else had a problem with them too

Elena no. But as I'm looking for a cooker hood fan. I am aware of them and was going to order.
What have they done?0 -
Yes ropey company (IMHO)
My order never came as planned, customer service lacking and finally several came!! (had to send some back)
Had to fight to get some delivery money back because I paid for the premium service.
Wouldn't recommend.0 -
Used them for an air conditioner unit a few months back. It made a hideous noise when plugged in - Suspect it had been dropped multiple times whilst in transit.
A.D. arranged collection & refund reasonably quickly, but had to chase them for a refund of the initial shipping cost.
Wouldn't buy from them again. Most of the stuff I can get from local suppliers at very similar prices. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Yes, had a lot of trouble with them over a new washing machine. I bought a "Grade A" expecting some cosmetic damage, but the door catch was broken rendering it useless. The transit screws were also damaged, suggesting some severe trauma!
They first told me to go to the manufacturer, which I did but of course they sent me straight back to AD. Then they kept telling me it wasn't their problem, until I mentioned Contract Law and then they reluctantly agreed to take it back. Then they insisted I repackage the washing machine in its original packaging. AD had a service where they take away the packaging for you, so how are you supposed to do that? They threatened that if I didn't the collection would be refused and I'd lose my refund.
I have complained to CACS as they have breached several of the Distance Selling Regulations.
1. Goods not as described.
2. Telling me to go to the manufacturer
3. Not accepting a return until I was very persistent.
4. Insisting upon original packaging. If your outgoings exceed your income, your upkeep will be your downfall.
