AA Renewal
Hi,
I have just received my AA gold membership renewal for roadside & complimentary home start at £90.31, paid annually.
This seems a bit high to me, would you guys agree? if so, any pointers on getting the price down? Its been creeping up and up the last few years, last year was £89.63.
I've not phoned them in.. well i don't know how long and I've been a member for over 20 years!
Thanks
Kevin

Phone them. tell them you are thinking of leaving as it is too expensive. They will put you through to their retentions department, who will do you a "special favour" and reduce the price, by up to 50%, possibly if you agree to a 2 year deal with them.
I've done it twice now. It makes them competitive rather than extortionate.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Thanks, just wasn't sure if the price was "normal" for what I have compared to others so thought maybe it wasn't as expensive as I thought it was

Thanks

Just phoned, got price down to £74.xx for next year i think he said then it will go back to normal pricing... not a huge discount.. alternative was additional 3 months of cover for same price but tbh i not phoned them in I don't know how long so didn't bother with the extra 3 months, wanted a reduced price so small saving

Thanks!

You have to 'phone them every year. It helps if you can give them the price for someone they have heard of who is miles cheaper to try and match. It used to be Greenflag, but I think their prices have shot up.
I have to do the same thing with Virginmedia every year, they give me a "special loyalty discount" every year that lasts 12 months.
They always punish loyalty, never reward it.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Companies do not reward loyalty. Even if over 20 years.

Why is "emergency assist " via groupon never in martins list? Too new? It would seem to be the best value.0

What about it?0

...does my head in...every year an above inflation hike which then needs the inevitable phone call and always always a price adjustment, same with house and car insurance et all.
Why do suppliers treat their "loyal" customers sooooo badly!?0 -
