Just to update, phone calls made, AA would not match Saga / RAC price [£109] so that's one less customer
I had the 12 month for 9 month price offer, does your alternative cover match? stuff, in the end I asked point blank will you price match or not? No was reply so that completed the phone callWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
...does my head in...every year an above inflation hike which then needs the inevitable phone call and always always a price adjustment, same with house and car insurance et all.
Why do suppliers treat their "loyal" customers sooooo badly!?
Because they know that loyal customers are unlikely to leave, and so they can fleece them.No free lunch, and no free laptop

We live in a capitalist world and these companies are in business, they are not charities or not-for-profit organisations and will try and squeeze every last penny from each and every customer.
As an employee of a breakdown company (one of the big two) I think i will start another thread to lift the lid on this issue and hopefully encourage people to take some responsibility themselves.

The days when the AA and RAC were genuine friendly organisations run by motoring enthusiasts have long gone. They are owned by venture capitalists who are out to screw every last penny they can. Loyalty is cynically not rewarded. Other breakdown organisations are available.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

There are, but not all are good IME.
The ones where a local garage call out is involved obviously depend on who comes to your aid and their skills
I always used these sort without any problems until a year or so back when it was obvious the call out person had no idea what he was doing and just wanted me off his hands via tow truck to a garage
After that I went over to AA because to me it was worth it in wasted time aloneWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -

They are, but none of them are "genuine friendly organisations" either.iolanthe07 wrote: »The days when the AA and RAC were genuine friendly organisations run by motoring enthusiasts have long gone.
