Insurance Refusing to settle

Cash receipts are fine as long as they are genuine and linked to the car in question. If they're just a number scribbled on a scrap of paper they're no good.FaizanKhan wrote: »I agree, but all I have it cash receipts (most small garages dont take card), although they are VAT receipts. The car had an accident anything could have happened to the data recording system for the key. Like previously mentioned if insurance still refuse to pay the sibling will take the cost on his own head for replacing the car as he caused this headache, which I dont mind as long as the insurance just close the claim, its just this whole getting framed for fraud thing im worried about because its nothing like that and Ive never been in trouble with police
I'm still puzzled. You keep telling us you have these receipts so what more do you need?0 -
Just want some reassurance really as its a stressful time. Have nobody to really speak to. Visited a lawyer he advised to try drop the claim if i dont want the hassle or pursue it as i have the right to. Lets see what gods plan is0

Is that really what a solicitor advised? The potential fraud isn't going away because you back down.0 -
He advised its my decision as i mentioned sibling willing to take the hit, but he did say my evidence should be enough if it does end up going prosecution route. But like i said ive never been involved with police and dont want to take that route, unless as a last resort0

That doesn’t make sense. He advised you to drop it or pursue it? What sort of advice is that?! Did he have a view on what would be the best course of action or did he just borrow your watch and tell you the time?FaizanKhan wrote: »Just want some reassurance really as its a stressful time. As for God’s plan, well, the less said about that the better. If your current situation is a result of God’s plan, I wouldn’t be too sure She’s well placed to get you out of this mess.2 -
I simply don’t believe a solicitor would give this advice. It won’t be up to you if the police want to get involved, so it’s not a last resort.FaizanKhan wrote: »He advised its my decision as i mentioned sibling willing to take the hit, but he did say my evidence should be enough if it does end up going prosecution route. Either you’ve been duped by someone pretending to be a solicitor, you’ve misunderstood the legal advice you’ve been given or this whole solicitor malarkey is as false as other elements of your story.0 -
The solicitor mentioned its within the insurance company and they can drop it, if it goes with prosecution then his ready to battle, its only when i mentioned sibling is willing to take the hit he said if you want to try drop it to avoid the hassle then be it, and frankly that is what i want because im unable to focus due to this stress0

If that's the case I'd find a better solicitor. You allowed your brother to drive without insurance and made a false declaration when you took out the insurance. What's he think he's going to defend?0 -
There is no solicitor, and I suspect there’s no brother either. If that's the case I'd find a better solicitor. You allowed your brother to drive without insurance and made a false declaration when you took out the insurance. What's he think he's going to defend?
This whole thread is a ridiculous mish-mash of incomplete stories, contradictions and unbelievable happenings. It’s a good yarn, though.1 -

And also a test bed for his ‘story’
He now knows to mention electrical faults early in his story, what invoices he needs to fabricate and what not to mention to the insurers.
Job well done to all0
