Just because she's angry that I've been ripped off when she knows I can't afford to throw money away on food that doesn't get delivered. A mother's instinct I guess, looking after her young

Why put that comment? You don't know me or my family. I'm a single mother with depression and anxiety and sometimes I feel I can't always do what I need to so if my mum wants to help me get back £14, which I can ill afford, then so be it.Did owe £9,951.96

I just find your expectation, well, a bit odd.
Remembering what certain doors look like when you're delivering 10 or more meals an hour seems unrealistic. And asking the company to describe what my door looks like seems unreasonable.
I won't say you're wrong, but I think you're barking up the wrong tree if you think that "tell me what my door looks like" is going to win an argument with a takeaway.

So try getting a refund from your card provider. Goods ordered and not received, simple enough on paper...

This is one of the major problems with Just Eat - when things go wrong they just fob you off to the restaurant and wash their hands of it.
For future reference an Amex card is good for transactions like this. They are really good at processing no-quibble chargebacks when things go wrong. I've done it a few times with eBay items rather than waiting for the ridiculous Paypal dispute process.0 -

As you stated that the retailer had delivered the food in the OP.
The dispute will hinge on that fact the retailer says it was delivered. NOT that you did not get the food.
Goods remain at the traders risk until they enter the physical possession of the consumer or someone identified by the consumer as authorised to receive the goods. So would be up to the restaurant to prove they delivered to OP, rather than up to the OP to prove they didn't.
Consumer rights act forms part of your contract therefore can be used in support of a chargeback claim. Of course, bank staff sometimes aren't aware of chargeback or section 75 so I wouldn't expect them to know about the CRA either. You keep using that word. If you can ill afford to lose £14, why are you spending money on a takeaway and delivery cost?
Not cheaper to make meals yourself?0
